The Tuna Show and Feast is a sensory experience like no other

The Stars of the Show!

Did you know that the highest quality tuna can sell for millions of dollars?! The Tuna Show is a rare chance to experience the fine art of tuna cutting, enjoy and bid on the ‘King of Sashimi’ with master Japanese chefs Dennis Oh of Izakaya Tori and Fukada San of Kuon Omakase.

After a welcome refreshing yuzu cocktail in the newly renovated Conservatory bar, sake is served in traditional boxes upon entry and you are ready to sit back and enjoy the theatrics of the Tuna Show on Friday 17th June at the Sheraton Grand Hotel. The premium 76kg bluefin tuna is line-caught and brought up from Tasmania that morning. Watch as it is expertly cut in front of you and prepared by the sharpest sashimi knives in Sydney then join in the fun of bidding for the coveted Otoro pieces to take home at excellent value prices (million dollar bank balance not required!).

Indulge in the stunning fresh seafood feast featuring plenty of that smooth, slightly sweet prime tuna sashimi, lobster, oysters, prawns, scallops, smoked salmon, salads and cheeses. Throughout the afternoon you will be served dishes to the table including the light and elegant Snapper clear soup with Daikon and seagrape, followed by the richer Chawanmushi with Truffle butter. The Miso glazed toothfish is cooked to perfection with a slight crust and served with delicate sweetened eel sauce and asparagus. It just melts in your mouth.

The feast is accompanied with a selection of Penfolds wines to perfectly complement the fresh flavours of the incredible food. Whilst the Tuna is the undisputed star of the show and why we are here; make sure to save room for the desserts. Enjoy fresh cut fruit and chocolate fountain, traditional Japanese ice creams and yuzu curd tart.

This seasonal event is only happening on Friday 17th June and is a truly unforgettable sensory experience for seafood lovers like no other you can have in Sydney.
