Create Your Sale With PayPal

PayPal-sale

I wouldn’t say I have a full-blown addiction to buying clothes online. I’m fairly careful with my money (for a 20-something working in fashion) and I know trends are definitely not going to work with my existing wardrobe.

However, I do spend a lot of time shopping online. Getting lost in a website’s entire sale section seems like a prerequisite to hitting the checkout, and my inbox is often bombarded with more newsletters from stores I’ve signed up than it is mail from actual people. Online clothing shopping is such an overwhelming part of our lives these days, but there aren’t many websites dedicated to helping us score sweet deals on our terms – and when our own schedule dictates.

One of the exceptions is a new site by PayPal that literally lets you create your own sale. Don’t want to wait until after Christmas to buy a new swimsuit? No, neither do I – summer’s almost halfway over by then. And I definitely don’t want to be setting any 6am alarm clocks to hit early morning flash sales. Create Your Sale let’s you choose your own reason to score a bargain. Maybe it’s a new job, or maybe you just got your shoes splashed with gutter water from a passing bus and need a little retail therapy. And since it’s all done through PayPal’s reliable payment method, there’s one thing you definitely won’t find – any sketchy charges on your online banking statement.

Step One is naming your sale. The website says any reason is a good reason – agreed – and I definitely need a few new things before heading to New Zealand for Fashion Week at the end of the month. After that you choose the stores you want to shop from. PayPal has partnered with all your online fashion favourites such as ASOS, General Pants, and The Iconic’s brand new SS14 collections – no musty last-season leftovers here — but also with a lot of overseas websites you might not immediately think of hitting up. Hit North America’s Saks Fifth Avenue or Neiman Marcus without leaving your bed and not only do you get buyer protection, it’ll also display the price in your own currency.

The other thing I liked about PayPal’s partnerships is it’s a way to discover new (secure) online fashion destinations. Showpo offered me 20% off for spending over $50, and this site pretty much has the party dress game on lock. Other sites include Country Road, Glue, J Brand, BCBG Max Azria, OPSM, Jeans West, True Religion, Ozsale, and Boohoo.com.

Once you’ve filled your basket, simply head to checkout like usual and enter your special discount code. And, of course, share your sale with friends. Who said you have to wait for beach weather to brag about your new We Are Handsome one-piece?

Go on then, get shopping! www.createyoursale.com.au
