The best birds eye view in Melbourne

Melbourne StarOne of Melbourne Star’s private beach boxes, sangria, 360-degree views of Melbourne. We can’t imagine a more perfect summertime activity.

Located in the hustle and bustle of The District Docklands, Melbourne Star is taking this to even higher new heights with a range of fun, limited-time only experiences.

We had a chance to soak up the “Summer Beach Box” – a drink on arrival (we recommend the sangria!), grazing plates chock full of gorgeous cheeses, dips, crusty bread and fruit, 30 minutes in a private, temperature controlled pod and enough deck chairs and pool toys to make you feel as if you’re down at Brighton beach. Brighton beach, of course, is the inspiration for this fun-filled activity. You can book it here – but be quick, it’s only until the end of Feb.

The audio commentary talks you through the many sights and the compass on the ceiling helps you keep your bearings as you follow along. As you soar up to 120m into the sky you are treated full panoramic views, from Port Melbourne, all the way out to the You Yangs, the Mornington Peninsula and beyond.

Next up on the calendar are a series of seriously romantic Valentine’s Day packages. We’re talking a private flight for you and your special someone over full two rotations of the observation wheel, with different options for the day – we say go all out and book “Cupid’s Delight Flight”, with bubbles, bouquets and sweet and savoury canapés.

So whether you’re looking for the best way to show your friends and family Melbourne, you want to get to know more about you live, or even if you just want to escape the heat and take in some gorgeous views – this unique experience is sure to be an impressive all-around crowd pleaser.
