March into merivale

Eat at the establishment, cellar, bar, pool …
March is a good a month as any to go a little mad.  Mad for fine gastronomy, topped with a generous serving of value from chefs such as Peter Doyle, Dan Hong, Chris Whitehead and Massimo Bianchi.

Chef’s from nine of Merivale’s venues – including est, Sushi e, Ash Street Cellar, Mad Cow, Uccello, Teppanyaki, Lotus, Bistro CBD and Sushi Choo – are to hold 30 events during March with culinary events and offers.

During week one that means a $33 menu of Miso lamb rack, crushed wasabi potatoes, and den miso sauce at Teppanyaki, or Pan fried crumbed piccatas of veal fillet, spinach, pine nuts, olives and lemons at est.

At Sushi Choo you can see a Geisha show and learn how to make sushi. There’ll be cocktail-making classes, weekly carvery and BYO evenings.  Housed in the laneway at ivy’s Ash Street Cellar a series of Monday art-house cinema nights will screen showing a selection of food-themed flicks.

We thought ‘marching’ into Merivale was a little bit misleading.  Best make it on the double.
