Thirst quenching

Sydney Twitter community helping charity: water

You religiously drink your ‘six glasses a day’ (or at least know you should), and to satiate your thirst can take a few steps to a tap or water cooler. Such daily habits make it hard to believe that 1 in 6 people worldwide don’t have access to safe, clean drinking water.

Charity: Water advocates a massive change for drinking water in developing countries, and on 12 February 2009 the Twitter social network community is rallying to help raise money for the cause.

Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney are amongst 180+ international cities hosting a Twestival on the same day. 100% run by volunteers, each city has organised their events in less than three weeks and will give 100% of the money raised to support charity: water projects.

Expect a night of entertainment, refreshments, silent auctions and raffle prizes. If you can’t attend a Twestival, make a donation or participate in one of the online fundraising activities. Each city is aiming to raise enough money for one well, and globally $500,000.

Connect and get a thirst for thirst quenching.
