DA September Beauty Guide for September with “nearly spring” essentials

It’s nearly spring

We’re back outside – a bit – again and the scent of spring is taunting us as we yearn for those long nights and the hope of a normal summer coming our way. As we look for ways to pick ourselves up, here are some new products that will help us look and feel better!

Bobbi Brown nude lips sail ships

As our sense of fashion heads back to the 90s so does our make-up.  Bobbi Brown brings back nude lips with Crushed Lip Colour including a selection of pink, beige, caramel and chocolate shades. The range has been co-created with women to produce the truest nudes for all skin tones. So no more loose lips sink ships, we think nude lips can sail ’em.

The Crushed Lip Colour is creamy, and buildable for greater coverage. Each colour is infused with Vitamin E & C and beeswax, for super soft, hydrated lips. These nudes glide over your lips and leave a satin matte finish for a lightly pigmented and natural lip look. These nudes are creamy, like all Bobbi Brown product, and look smooth and luscious on the lips.

The Concentrate from La Mer

For something totally glamorous that will perk both you and your skin up there’s The Concentrate from La Mer. So confident is the naming – the concentrate means there are no others, and we agree. The Concentrate  – a serum/balm that has been infused with a super-concentrated form of skin soothing Miracle Broth™ , is a skin hero. Newly advanced with antioxidant power in a sumptuous, velvety texture, after use, your skin will appear visibly soothed.

The Concentrate is packed with soothing ingredients, like Lime Tea, to help neutralise free radicals that cause inflammation and can contribute to ageing. The Concentrate acts like a liquid barrier, to deflect these irritants. The Concentrate can be used as a barrier, soother, antioxidant repeller or primer and it calms and soothes irritated skin. Using this with the Creme De La Mer is luxurious and worth it.

Sukin colour care

Sukin is synonymous with paraben free, sulphate free innovative use of natural ingredients to make high quality products that women actually need and really love. The new colour care hair care range is no different and is helping the dyed hair of women stay stronger for longer.

Sukin Haircare Colour Care range is enriched with natural ingredients to help keep your colour looking fresh! Free from sulphate & silicones the range’s 3-step regime helps prevent colour fading, promotes natural shine & strengthens coloured hair with a blend of: Native Australian Kakadu Plum: Revitalises hair and promote natural shine; Quinoa: Helps keep colour vibrant for longer;  Macadamia Oil: Adds essential moisture to the hair and scalp.

The shampoo is clear and smells delightful. It’s a gentle lather and not over the top, probably because it’s not packed with chemicals. The conditioner is a little more watery than you may be used to, but does work effectively. The treatment, though, is creamy and delectable, rich and lovely on the hair.

Sukin recommends we turn down the heat on the water in the shower, opt for the scrunchie over an elastic and ditch the hairdryer and straighteners at least a couple of times a week to help protect your hair, all ways we can keep our locks luscious for longer.

Natural deodorant Asuvi works

Deodorant is an indisputable absolute essential. When it works it’s an unsung hero, and when it doesn’t it’s nothing less than well…awkward. New natural Australian brand ASUVI is the brainchild of Thomas Richard – an outdoor enthusiast and environmentalist from Sydney’s northern beaches who wanted to create a range of all natural products that are not only good for your body but good for the planet too.

The first product to launch from the brand is the world’s first natural and refillable deodorant stick that has 100% biodegradable refills. ASUVI worked with some of Australia’s top cosmetic chemists and perfumers to create all natural formulas that are effective, sustainable, feel great on the skin and smell amazing. Then they went a step further and packaged them in a reusable tube that can be replenished over and over using plastic free refills.

Say goodbye to aluminium deodorant and hello to effective deodorant (not something we can say about all natural deodorants)  in eco-conscious packaging.
