Excellent track record

Country Racing
Any country kid will tell you that a day races is a good excuse to pack the Esky, pop on a hat and head down to the track for a picnic.

What? No spray tan? No high heels? No standing in line at the bar/bathroom/ticket line/taxi queue for hours and hours? Uh, no … it’s a little bit different in the country where you can enjoy a day at the races without all the fuss.

Get a group of friends together and head out to one of these upcoming race meets:

Jim’s Butchery/Luv-a-Duck Nhill Cup
Pack a picnic and stake out your piece of the lawn at the Wimmera Racing Club Boxing Day Races. With a seven race program and full catering, bar and tote facilities onsite, you would be well-advised to book a hotel room in town so you can stick around to watch the band that starts after the last race is run.

Racing at the Rock
New Year’s Day is traditionally a time to repent but seriously, where’s the fun in that? Head out to Hanging Rock and be part of a 125-year tradition of getting straight back in the saddle. Write your New Year’s resolutions on the back of a TAB slip and toast your winnings from picnic blanket in the shade of an elm tree and laze away your hangover in proper country fashion.

Stony Creek Races
Make the most of your last day of holidays and drive out to South Gippsland for a special celebration of regional food and wine. Punt and sip the day away on the lawn and when the last race is run, don your cossies and go to Inverloch for one last swim before the office calls you back into its icy confines.
