Fans of New York rock star chef David Chang won’t have to wait until next year’s casino redevelopment is complete to get a taste of down and dirty, modern Asian food, with Ms G’s set to rock Potts Point from this weekend.
Situated on the bones of iconic restaurants past, this multi-level establishment houses communal tables, an ‘un-done’ interior vibe, bar space…and a veggie garden?
Chef duo Dan Hong (who will continue as head chef at Lotus Bistro) and Jowett Yu are known for several things: Mad sneaker collections, a penchant for hip-hop…and a bold approach to food. Inspired by David Chang’s Momofuku eateries in NYC, expect fresh produce (some of it grown in the aforementioned veggie garden) and modern interpretations based on Dan’s Vietnamese and Jowett’s Taiwanese heritage, which form a menu including gems like fried baby chicken with kimchi mayonnaise and mini bánh mì.
A welcome, more relaxed change to the Potts Point scene, expect a massive dose of fun, served up with your sake.
