Noodles for FFFs

NoodleHEROFussy Foodie Friends (FFF’s) … as much as you love them, let’s face it, there are times when it’s tempting to string them up with udon noodles as your murder mystery weapon.

So when the talented team behind one of the best new restaurant openings last year (Niji Sushi) open a casual noodle bar, it’s not surprising that seasonal produce and aromatic herbs take centre stage.

This is fast food you can tell your fitness trainer about with pride thanks to chef Awut Rattanabumrung (Thai Riffic and Bondi’s 99 Thai) mastery of the wok.

Chicken satay is given a light touch with a blend of coconut water, roasted peanuts and chilli paste, whilst the Ramen is a soulful bowl of porky goodness topped with colourful boiled eggs and wakame.

But it’s the BBQ duck which sends you quackers with a delicious garlic and pepper sauce. So if your FFF ordering goes something like this “Can I have chilli and basil sauce (no basil), herbs (I don’t like coriander), noodles (must be organic), seafood (no mussels)” then this is the place for you.

It’s as easy as 123, pick your ingredients and your bespoke dining experience commences.

About the author

Karen’s corporate job back in the UK had included entertaining clients in some of the best restaurants. This ultimately sparked a curiosity 'Just how do they do that?' (she confesses she was brought up on meat and vegetables, so this was all very exciting). Currently a Mr & Mrs Smith 'Tastemaker', she’s flashpacked around the world, learning about wine, experiencing different cultures and cuisines and had a two- year love affair with it all. Originally from England, she finally settled in Australia and continues to be besotted by food, wine and travel preferring to focus on the luxury end of town (thread count does matter).
