Ricky Gervais for Netflix and Optus… We Think

Ricky-Gervais-Optus

Instant gratification – it’s an appeal you’ve become well accustomed to. From getting concert tickets with a few clicks, to buying outfits online and delivered to your door in 3hrs … it’s no wonder you’re watching your TV shows how, where and when you want to (hey, no judgement from us binge watching under your bed covers!).

Cue excitement as of this week Netflix is streaming shows, movies and documentaries in Australia. To launch an exclusive new partnership with Netflix, Optus has recruited comedy legend Ricky Gervais to tell us about the tie-up. As only he can.

You no longer have to wait 6+ months to see for yourself what the rest of the world is buzzing about when it comes to smash series like Orange Is The New Black and House of Cards with Kevin Spacey. You’ll be in the know as it all happens.

The awesomeness doesn’t stop there. You can watch whatever show you want, when you want (TV schedules are so 2014), and there are no ads. Yep, none.

Not quite convinced? Well maybe Mr Gervais can have another stab at it:

Sure you pay for the subscription, but it’s not much (starting from $8.99) and it’s nothing compared to the pay TV prices we’ve only had access to in the past. You’ll fork out a little more to get streaming across numerous devices but it’s worth the extra few bucks per month if you can watch your favourite flicks on the go (good-bye boring car, train and bus trips).

And if you’re still reluctant to take the plunge, Optus is offering a free six-month subscription to Netflix when you sign up or renew any of their eligible Optus plans before July 5, 2015. Find out more here.

Happy binge viewing.
