Middle Park Hotel serves up footy fever

Game day fun
If you’ve missed tickets to the G and have nothing planned for the game, don’t despair. Gather your crew and head to the Middle Park Hotel where the siren will sound early with a Grand Final Breakfast.

Yes, it’s the time of year when everyone goes a little footy mad. Even those of us who aren’t sporting sorts feel an inclination to adorn the spirit of the game, throw on a scarf and mark the day with a celebration of kinds.

From 8am the pub’s Long Dining Room (coincidentally these walls once lined the MCC Long Room) will host a full English breakfast, complete with Bloody Mary or Laurent Perrier, or if it’s a little early, Lavazza Coffee or Larsen and Thompson teas. While AFL greats Wayne Carey and Corey McKernan will share their accounts and memories of grand final day.

The action will then be screened throughout the day in the Bull Ring Bar; Australia’s longest bar, featuring 45 beer taps offering brilliant boutique Victorian beers. While consulting chef Paul Wilson, will put a spin on traditional footy tucker, serving up gourmet pies and tommy sauce, complemented of course by triple cooked chips – footy wouldn’t be the same without it.

So all you saintly creatures out there, or black and white birds of flight, book your spot for brekkie, pull up a pew at the Middle Park Hotel and cheer your little heart out.
