All Star Line Up at Bondi Picnic

Take the star power of Little Marionette coffee (Ed Cutcliffe), add bread and pastries from Luxe Bakery, throw in two DJs, a Melbournian manager, and Andrew Crabbe (from Bondi Icebergs Crabbe Hole), and you have the makings for a dangerously good café.

Occupying one of the best corner possies in Bondi (at the old Igloo Zoo site), jostle your way up Hall Street to get acquainted with Bondi Picnic and its all-star rat pack.

A welcome departure from mismatched furniture, old lounge chairs and bicycle paraphernalia, it’s all about the ‘anti-clutter’ here – classic white meets timber finishes, polished concrete floor, low hanging industrial shades and loads of natural Bondi rays.

Nab a stool at one of the prime people-watching window tables and don’t waste time before ordering a coffee, pronto! Choose from the house blend, daily changing single origins, or go for the cold press served over ice and/or with a splash of fresh coconut milk – any which way, it’s pure caffeine delight.

Brunch addicts rejoice, its breakfast all day with staples like muesli, banana bread, toast and scrambled eggs – but the real magic happens somewhere between indulgence and over-indulgence with the ultimate bressert dish; layers of toasted buttery croissant stacked with fresh berries, passionfruit, yoghurt and a drizzle of syrup.

For lunch, it’s a sandwich and salad affair, with a hefty selection of Luxe pastries and tarts to set you on your way.

If you’re after a caffeine hit on-the-go, get on board the pre-order and pay system (download the Beat The Q app) and pick up your latte on the fly. Now that’s efficiency, people.

This is one pack you want ‘in’ on.
