Oh, Sweet Evelyn!


Freshly baked cupcakes are special. A little treat flavoured with anything and everything perfectly portioned and wrapped. It’s something from the heavens. Sweet Evelyn, the café and micro bakery next to Miss Marmalade in Brunswick is baking these treats daily, along with an all day breakfast menu. Doesn’t get much better than cupcakes, eggs and bacon. Right?

Owned by Steve and Dear Tamsitt, you can see hints of Dear’s Thai heritage coming through in the recipes. The freshly baked cupcakes range from Green Tea and Red Bean, Tiramisu, and Caramel Popcorn served with more popcorn pouring out the top, to the more traditional flavours of Red Velvet, Lemon, Cookies & Cream, and Black Forest. They also make sure dietary requirements are taken care of with dairy and nut free cupcakes as well as gluten free ones. 


If cupcakes aren’t your thing they also have a range of macarons, sweet pies, doughnuts, and cronuts. Plus a full breakfast menu (did we mention that?). The savoury seekers are well taken care of here with the crispy pancetta breakfast served with whipped sundried tomatoes, feta, and rocket salad, with poached eggs and organic sourdough and the vegetarian baked eggs served with goats cheese. If you’re still looking for more sugar after the cupcakes, you can go for the French toast served with honey lemon ricotta, house jam, pistachios, and maple syrup, or the apple and cranberry granola with Greek yoghurt and fresh strawberries.
