Or more simply
The things that make you go ….HA!
Della Hyde’s Down for Good Laughs featuring some of Australia’s top comedians is back for 2019.
We all love the spark of joy that comes by giving your closet the Marie Kondo once over, but nothing beats when someone makes you laugh – and laugh hysterically!
Della Hyde is the perfect location for live acts – there’s a distinctly vintage French Resistance meets Vegas boudoir vibe going on – where underground bunker chic meets dressing room lights and pastel glamour and white bentwood chairs against exposed brick walls puts a touch of Moulin Rouge sauciness squarely on the menu. So, if you’ve had enough ‘cocktails on rooftops’ sessions this Summer, this luxe Oxford St basement bar, formally the infamous Phoenix nightclub, has the perfect after dark meet-up ambiance. Add a top stand-up comedy line up to the mix and your laughing – literally!
Della Hyde has again partnered with the guys over at Laugh Mob to deliver a monthly line up of some of Australia’s most gifted stand-up comedians. Headliner and crowd favourite for the January session was Marty Bright, joined by the likes of Rowan Thambar, Jack Wright and Robin Reynolds. MC Pat Doherty keeps things moving nicely and helps deliver what is overall a very intimate and very funny night out – but if you don’t want to become live material, we recommend moving to the back! Wherever your perched though, Down For Laughs is the kind of night of laughter we all need more of and will no doubt have us coming back for more.
