Misbehavin at Aquaviva’s

AquaviviasIn the words of Fats Waller, “I’m through with flirtin”. Like little jack horner in his corner, you’re ready for that ol’ familiar somethin. Right?

Strolling down the lively avenue of Stanley Street, prepare thee for a friendly, “Pleased to meet you, step inside, we have the perfect spot under the staircase. We call her the mini mansion”.

Introducing you to the cheeky but charming new resident to Darlinghurst. He’s Portuguese and goes by the name of Aquaviva’s. A harmless flirt, he’s not bad on the eye either.

Aquaviva’s (translation Water of Life) dishes up fresh Australian fair with a delightful nod to the owners’ Portuguese heritage.

Uncover a well coiffed menu filled with morsels made all in-house. Take our advice, lay your trust to the Gods and leave the ordering up to Chef Chris Bell (formally of Cafe Sydney). The 6-hour Spring Lamb and the House-hung jar of cheese will delight. Moving on to the ‘separate stomach compartment’, the ‘Mixed bag of Lollies’ is reason enough to return back to your youthful roots.

Whether it’s upstairs in the lounge slash dining room or rear courtyard. There will be no cause for awkward silences.

Who knows, you might even find one of the owners playing an impromptu Fats note or two on his Flugelhorn.
