Online shopping is great– the convenience of browsing hundreds of pieces from the comfort of your desk…um, we mean couch… is a tine poor girl’s dream come true. But with lack of time and a virtual window shopping comes a trade off: the shopping experience.

Do you remember those stunning stores that are like mini homes of the rich and famous? They’re luxe, they come with people who can give you personal style advice face to face, and you actually get to try (and touch) before you buy. We forgot you could do that.

Well if you’re craving the real deal, The Intersection in Paddington should be your first point of call. It has all the really good stores, not to mention the luxe fitouts. And make sure you check out the newbie on the block, Lee Mathews.

Now in their 15th year, Lee Mathews recently revealed its new direction on the runways at MBFWA. The Spring/ Summer 15 collection, which is now in store, was inspired by Japanese Katazome prints with influences of oriental styling and boyish soft tailoring. It’s a fun new look for the veteran brand and it’s hanging up all nice and pretty in-store just waiting for you to pay them a visit.

The store is super chic and modern, with a nod to the coastal birthplace of the brand. And it’s not just about the clothes, although we were quite happy with just them. Lee Mathews wanted to collaborate with like-minded artisans and creatives, so she has set up areas in the store to house their curated collections. It really is like walking into someone’s home and having a good sticky beak.

Once you’ve got your spring wardrobe sorted, we think you’ve earned yourself a drink. Good thing The Village Inn is located right across the road… did we mention how much we love real shopping.
