Bananalab – Deciding on the perfect gift just became easier

The Bananalab gift box

There’s nothing worse than being stumped on what to get someone. Whether a work colleague, family member or even best mate, there will come a time where you just wished someone else could do the choosing for you. This is where Bananalab comes into play.

Born from realising there was a gap in the experiences market, mates Tom and Eric were on a surf trip when they noticed not only was there no good options to offer fun experiences as presents, the giving of a voucher can be a little anticlimactic to say the least.

We wanted to preserve that magical moment when you receive a gift and your eyes start sparkling, and a smile lights up your face. This is how we came up with the idea of Multi-Choice Experience Gift Boxes

Eric Amiel and Thomas Dufraisse – Bananalab Co-Founders

Derived from a French expression which can literally be translated to “smile like a banana” the Bananalab gift boxes offer hundreds of hand-picked experiences Australia-wide for all budgets. Each gift comes with occasion too, packaged into a beautiful box is a booklet, and corresponding voucher for the giftee. You can even use augmented reality tech to send a personalised video message if you are separated by distance (or border closures).

So how does it work? Well, the hardest part has already been done by the Bananalab team who have selected experiences as wide ranging as sailing or truffle hunting, to grape stomping and hot laps in racing cars. The choice you do have to make is tailoring your selection to the person you are buying for. With varying price-points you can select gifts for him, her, couple or even corporate and select between ‘Bucket List’, ‘Moments’, or ‘Ultimate’ experiences.

You can learn to sail on the iconic Sydney Harbour

Once the recipient has their paws on the box, all they need to do is peruse the handy booklet, and book it with the experience partner of their choosing using the voucher that comes with the box. It’s that easy.

This writer is looking forward to the grape stomping experience with Urban Winery in Sydney. The booklet is very informative, location details, timings, and what to expect are all held within so all you need to do is book.
