Inspiring girls to take control of their finances
You tell your girlfriends everything.  About your love and family lives, job woes, fashion highs and diet lows. The one topic you don’t, however, broach as often as you should is about finance. Not like “my boss should give me a pay-rise”, but in an “I’d love to buy my first property and travel for a year, so what do I need to do to be able to afford that?” kind of way.

10thousandgirl aims to bring finance to life for 10,000 young women around Australia. Starting conversations around finance and encouraging girls to put a good plan into practice.

It aims to inspire a ripple effect; when a girl knows where she’s heading and how to get there, she is able to encourage those around her. 10thousandgirl is a social business that directs its profits into solving social problems instead of back into investor’s pockets, and has partnered with Opportunity International Australia to ensure that ripple is felt globally by providing microfinance loans to women in developing countries to launch their own businesses.

One-day Life Planning Workshops are running in major cities, where you can learn how to create a clear plan for your future and gain an understanding of how financial knowledge can give you more choices.
Along the way get some useful tools and the motivation to take steps towards long-term saving and investment goals. First property (of many) and round the world escapades? Here we come.
