Smokin’ night out

It’s sure to cause the kind of stampede you’d normally only see in the Wild West.

The first ‘You Don’t Mess With Texas’ BBQ dinner organised by Jess Pryles, aka BurgerMary – ably assisted by Red River BBQ’s Pat Lillicrap and Nick Keeling – sold out in less than a day, which is why we’re giving you ample warning to buy tickets for the next two.

St Ali will be filled with aromas of spice-rubbed brisket for these two special events that focus not only on authentic barbeque but also on southern comfort food. Three types of meat, including that brisket (smoked for 16 hours), will be served alongside sides of mac ’n’ cheese, potato salad and jalapeño poppers. Just to finish off the authentic Texan feast, Jess will serve her signature dessert of peach cobbler.

Also available is a special drinks package that includes a Michelada (cervesa, tomato juice and lime), a smoked porter and a glass of Sweet Tea Vodka. Other craft beers, selected by Tiffany Waldron of BeerGirlBites, will be sold over the bar.

Tickets are going fast, so get in early to lasso yourself one.
