Bernie Dieters Club Kabarett is one this years hottest shows

Club Kabarett

Seeking some sex in the city? Want to be thrilled, shocked and seduced, all at the same time? Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett has assembled a smoking hot talented troupe of performers who deliver a hilarious, hair-raising and heart-stopping show.

Spiegeltent

The only place for a Sydney Fringe headline event like this is the spectacular Spiegeltent. This intimate space lets the audience feel the performance up close and personal, just the way cabaret should be. Enter and you are transported to another time and place with the funky jazzy sounds of the uber cool Weimar punk band warming up the room before Bernie Dieter makes her entrance.

Vivacious Bernie

And what an entrance, wearing a tight sequenced one piece and feathered shoulders, Bernie’s voice, range, power and control is extraordinary. She doesn’t waste a minute before getting the audience involved, pulling three brave blokes on stage to first chariot her through the performance and have them close as back up dancers. From the first song, we are all hers, the audience is literally rolling about with laughter.

The seduction started with Bernie, followed by Sugar Du Jour’s steamy and saucy act and then the show goes next level as Blue Phoenix, World Mr Pole Dance 2022 takes to the stage. We are completely captivated by this elegant and erotic performance, the way he winds around that pole, wearing the biggest patent black stiletto boots you’ve ever seen and very little else. Yup, it will take your breath away.

Blue Phoenix pole magic

The break for intermission is an excellent opportunity to soak up the fabulously dressed audience in the Sydney Fringe Runaway Gardens which hosts the Spiegeltent. Overlooking Sydney’s sparkling harbour, the gardens are dressed in carnival lights with bars such as Atomic Beer and Mr Blacks for cocktails, champagne, wine and craft beer and food from Agape Organic and Lobster&Co offering gourmet treats.

Angelic Fancy Chance

The 2nd act commences with the glamorous and sophisticated Fancy Chance sashaying in all white, she appears to be almost weightless until the moment she is lifted by her hair and glides high above us looking like an angel. This ‘hair hanging’ artist makes jaws drop with awe and a little fear. Fancy Chance lives up to her name closing the act shedding her angelic costume to fly naked, truly stunning.

The Cirque du Soleil duo Reed Kelly and Jack Dawson continue to captivate us with a synchronised aerial straps performance.  Spinning endlessly, they are beautifully mesmerising. You don’t want them to stop until you see who’s next, smouldering Lucky Hell and what she does with those swords, oh my! Wait, what, how the hell does she do that? Thrilling!

Thrilling Lucky Hell

Bernie Dieter has put together one helluva show, from the astonishing acts, comedic lyrics to her soulful songs such as her acoustic arrangement of MGMTs “Time to Pretend,” this event is charged with energy and emotion. Quite possibly one of THE best cabaret you’ll ever see, standing O’s after almost every performance, Sydney Fringe has shot the lights out bringing Bernie and her talented troupe back.

The Sunday roast seems to have lost its' tradition down under. Right now is the season for comfort food. It’s no wonder that Brit Darren Robertson (Three Blue Ducks), co-owner of Rocker Bondi is serving up the ultimate Sunday roast. Chefs Stuart Toon and Ethan Smart, also from the motherland have designed a roast that any Brit will find nostalgic.
