Your Healthy Hub in the Shire: Mint Organics

Mint-Organics

Cheesecake, scones and strawberry muffins, paleo, gluten free, dairy free, healthy, wholefoods. Yes, we can say all these things in the same sentence, because they all come from the same place.

Mint Organics is bringing Cronulla’s café culture to a whole new healthy level. Located just across the road from Gunnamatta Bay, Mint Organics has moved into the gutted interior of a former corner store and brought it back to life with exposed wooden beams, walls lined with health food products and a pastry cabinet that contains sweets so good they must be bad for you.

But they’re not. Everyday the team whips up fresh, organic treats ranging from gluten and dairy free strawberry cacao muffins to a paleo mango cheesecake that has us drooling.

Don’t worry, it isn’t just about the sweets. Start the day with a big bowl of dairy free bircher muesli or smashed avocado on sourdough toast. Drink smoothies out of mason jars in flavours like Mr Big – banana, chai seeds, honey, protein powder and raw cacao smoothie – and have your coffee with organic, rice, almond or Brazil nut milk.

Grab a veggie burger, brown rice sushi or sweet potato cashew and carrot soup for lunch. Stock up on a few healthy items for the pantry or pre-order raw cheesecakes and refined sugar tortes for special occasions.

Lisa Perkovic

Lisa used to use Sydney as a base to drop off souvenirs before heading off on the next adventure but these days she’s got her feet almost on the ground, with a desire to try every high tea in Sydney, and a cute cavoodle puppy at home. Travel writer, photographer and Kitchen Aid freak, she loves to eat, bake and write.
