Welcome to the Happy Valley

Tucked in near Gorski & Jones and Saint Crispin on Smith Street, Happy Valley, the newest venture from Chris Crouch is a place for discovery, a happy place where you can find and enjoy things you might not be able to elsewhere.

Chris Crouch is no stranger to retail; being the owner of Polyester Records for 12 years he moved to Tramway Hotel in North Fitzroy before coming back to retail with this new space. A store that reflects the European concept store where the walls act as an artistic space and everything is for sale, Happy Valley is not pigeonholing itself.

Your discoveries are made possible by the carefully curated selection of art prints, books, interesting design objects, and more, from both local and international designers, writers and artists. Pick out an art print by Séverin Millet (Lyon, France), porcelain coffee cups from MoMugs (New Zealand), unique trophies from Trophy Buffet (USA), timber homewares (MONO, Adelaide) and hand crafted jewellery (Mabel, Tasmania).

Magazines and books found here will cover anything from graphic novels, social science, art magazines, and more lifestyle choices as well.

When Crouch couldn’t decide whether to open an art gallery, book store, or design space, he opened Happy Valley. Visit and you’ll be delighted this is an amalgamation of all three.
