Rue & Co

Rue&Co Launch163Sometimes you want a souvlaki, sometimes you want a really great coffee, and other times you want Korean-fried-chicken wings. It happens. Rue & Co has created something for all of those moments.  Rue & Co sees Jimmy Grants from George Calombaris’ MAdE Establishment Group, the soon to be open Kong from Chris Lucas’ Lucas Group, and St Ali from Salvatore Malatesta come together to create a street food corner right in the heart of our not-so-street-food Melbourne. Shipping containers house the restaurants and an open-area for eating and mingling house the diners. Bring a coat. The QIC Global Real Estate initiative at 80 Collins Street, is the home. For as long as it can be. That’s up to QIC. A $550 million project is in the works for the next six to nine months.

While it’s there, Jimmy’s will be serving up souvlakis and grain salad, St Ali will be serving breakfast, including a smoothie of banana, avocado, spinach, dates, and coconut, as well as a night time burger menu, and last but definitely not least, Kong which is set to open next month, will be giving diners a taste of what will be with Korean-fried-chicken wings, kimchi stew, sliders, and a signature creation, the ssam roti roll.

One of the non-edible highlights is the artwork by RONE, which is said to be the largest street artwork in Australia. We’ll meet you on the streets.
