It’s a program that offers talented young singers between the ages of 18 and 28 the opportunity to hone their extraordinary talents through the experience of professional training and public opera performances.

The venue is the Melbourne Recital Centre. The format? Well…there’s no reality TV show cheese but it has so much potential for greatness (not to mention some of the most beautiful music ever composed), that Danni Minogue is probably kicking herself she didn’t sign up as judge. What she would think of Mozart, Verdi and other classical talents is anyone’s guess but, with or without celebrity adjudication, the general consensus is that Opera Scholars Australia (OSA) event is singing showcased in true style.
For the young performers of Opera Scholars Australia, it’s a huge moment – their debut on a major Melbourne stage. And they keep it local.
The event is stoked to be home to the Australian Premiere of former scholar Daniel Brinsmead’s worldwide, award-winning choral composition “Come Sleep”.
