Well now there’s a place you might actually want to go, and it doesn’t sell greasy meat cooked on a vertical spit.
Discerning drinksman Graham Cordery of Ivy note has also stumbled into that void between small bar and nightclub, and he’s filled it with exposed brickwork, flickering antique lamps and exquisite libations slightly at odds with the plastic yellow tumblers they’re served in.
You’re still in the 2011 postcode after all — hence the sturdy vessels and blinged-out DJ booth. But if you’re not gyrating under a disco ball with the beautiful people you could easily be thinking you’re kicking back in a 90210 lounge bar. Particularly if the compelling Mr Pink (Hayman’s London Dry Gin, Campari, 1783 Agrum and lime) or Fontanebleau (Tequila Blu, pineapple and chilli-ed coriander) have had any say in the matter.
Go with it — hell, secure a booth if bottle service is more up your alley.
