Get your Truffle fix at the Devon Cafe

Truffle Egg Sando

The onset of winter brings coats out of the cupboard, warming cups of hot chocolate in our hands and those delicious gems known as truffles come into season. After waiting patiently all year, we consider them our reward for the shorter and cooler days setting in.

You may have already tried the instagrammable menus at one (if not all) of the Devon Cafes. We love the mix of simple, minimalist décor paired with flamboyant and tasty creations that you can’t find anywhere else. Get ready to go to the next level because their Winter Truffle menu is worth getting that winter coat on for.

Devon Truffle Eggs

Start off with the fluffiest scrambled egg paired with the fluffiest white bread sando that really lets the shaved truffles shine. The curly fries with egg yolk, parmesan and truffle are 100% addictive – be careful who you share them with! For more substantial truffle treats, tuck into the wild mushroom open toastie with 3 cheeses, poached egg and jamon – or the flavourful Broken Spanish eggs topped with truffle. The standout is the luscious 16 hour beef cheeks prepared in Pedro Ximinez glaze with celeriac puree, artichokes and generous servings of truffle slices. It is the ultimate decadent comfort food that actually leaves you feeling light.

Beef Cheeks

Desserts are worth saving room for. The Truffle Sundae tastes as delicious as it looks – it’s a waffle cone with truffle soft serve, sea salt, truffle honey, frosted corn flakes and even more truffles shaved on top. It is served on a plate making it perfect to share with friends. They also have a truffle riff on their famous DD soft serve with fries (we know it sounds wrong) but is a must try.

If you are as excited by truffle season as we are, then you should get down to your local Devon Café stat. Given the queues braving the cold, its a good job they are on the menu all winter!
