Fresh off the runway: Our fave beauty looks from Australian Fashion Week!

As another Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week Australia draws to a close, let’s hone in on the newest beauty trends fresh off the runway, delivered to us by our favourite Aussie designers!

To help piece together your beauty inspiration board for the new season, we sat down with MAC Senior Global Makeup Artist Nicole Thompson, who armed us with some insider beauty tips. Grab a notepad and make yourself a cuppa – it’s time for a beauty download.

You get to Fashion Week early in the morning and it’s a sea of street style and coffee runs (in reusable, ceramic cups. Sip sip-hooray Vittoria)! Backstage, it was all about the beauty.

Here is a rundown on three of our favourite looks created by MAC; uber-cute and super achievable with a few makeup must-haves.

PE-NATION
Who doesn’t love that healthy post-workout glow? The faux healthy glow is a real thing, and, in the show, it was a beautiful flattering contrast to the brightness of the collection. MAC Global Makeup Artist Carol Mackie created radiant and simple skin with a mix of softening lotion and prep and prime essential oils.

Tip: Want to complement your post workout feeling? Add a dash of strobe cream to your moisturiser for a healthy glow that lasts all day.  Want to go a bit extra? Dab MAC gold pigment on the inner corners of your eyes.

If makeup could have a good time, this look would be it! Nicole wanted to create a look that wasn’t picture perfect. “Slightly lived-in lashes and eyes…these girls are too cool for perfection.” Lashes had a beautiful and soft look, with the trick being to paint the ends of the lashes with a brow set, adjusting colours to the individual features of each girl.

Tip: For creamy skin and good coverage, without the foundation look, we love Mac Face & Body. To keep focus on the eyes, Nicole suggests adding a natural tone to the lips.

You know that fresh plump feeling you get after an afternoon in the sun? Bec & Bridge created that look for the runway and we were all about it! Sun-kissed skin and colourful, paintbox eyes…this was hands-down our fave look from the week.

A must have for your daily make up stash, MAC Prep & Prime Fix can be spritzed throughout the day for a fresh and hydrated complexion. Brushing up the brows and filling them in with a light brow tint is also one of our favourite magic tricks. It can transform an entire look.
