Finding the best robot vacuum for pets in Australia means wading through endless features and marketing promises. Its exhausting. Even ChatGPT will need to lie down and have a tummy rub. The ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI has just launched and positions itself as the ultimate pet-friendly robot vacuum. After living with one for three weeks alongside my two greyhounds Georgia & Maggie, I’ve named mine Cinderella , partly because this robot has serious magic when it comes to cleaning.

My Home Situation: Testing Australia’s Best Robot Vacuum for Pets
We have no kids, but with two greyhounds, Maggie and Georgia who shed despite being supposedly hypoallergenic, and a busy lifestyle that leaves little time for daily cleaning, robot vacuums are essential. I’ve tested plenty of robots but the ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI is a significant step up and I have a lot of experience to reference from. Here’s my honest take.
Unboxing the ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI
The packaging is premium and easy. Inside is the OMNI station the real workhorse with self-cleaning bags, water tanks, and docking section is all set up, connect the docking ramp plus the bot itself. Done sorted. QR codes are easy to locate for fast setup.
The Setup

The QR code setup is straightforward, but still a pain. Download the app, plug in, connect to wifi, add passwords, name your Deebot (Cinderella), pair and then you are theoretically ready. Well, almost ready.
The mapping comes next. This is the same with all models. Not even Cinderella can wave her magic wand to fix set up. Pre mapping you have to declutter all your floors from random stuff. So lift up all your furniture or dog beds where possible for mapping. The wifi connection process isn’t as smooth as it should be, and the app navigation takes some getting used to. But it’s worth it once you’re past the initial hurdle.
Design: Nordic-Inspired Aesthetic Meets Pet-Friendly Function

The ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI has a refined, aesthetic with a monochromatic finish and fabric-like texture. It’s designed to blend into contemporary Australian interiors, and it does. The OMNI station is substantial but not overwhelming, housing clean water, dirty water, and dust collection in one sleek unit. You’ll need to plan for the space, but it’s attractive enough that I don’t hide it in a cupboard its in our lounge.
The bot itself is compact and well-engineered. The extended 27cm roller mop is significantly larger, more than 50% longer than previous designs which means greater floor coverage in every pass, crucial for homes with pets.
Pet Hair Performance: Why This is the Best Robot Vacuum for Pets – 30,000Pa BLAST Technology Suction Power

The ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI’s upgraded BLAST solution features larger fan blades in a low-resistance structure, unleashing 16L/s airflow and up to 30,000Pa suction power. i know its all super nerdy however, that’s genuinely impressive for a robot vacuum designed for pets. Nothing I have reviewed gets close to it. It handles daily dust to greyhound hair to the occasional food spill. The pickup rate for large debris on both hard floors and carpets mostly delivers thought my new carpets shedding like an Afghan hound did challenge the promise a bit. Even my very powerful Dreame handheld got suffocated. So that’s a good comparison in power.
The EV-Grade Pouch Battery has 1.6 times the lifespan of standard batteries, and the PowerBoost Technology restores up to 10% battery power in just three minutes during mop-washing intervals, which means the ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI can complete a full-home clean in one run without dying halfway through. It does mean a full clean takes longer.. more on that later…
ZeroTangle 4.0 Technology: Game-Changer for Pet Hair

With two greyhounds who love to flap, stretch, and lounge on every surface, the ZeroTangle 4.0 technology makes the ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI the best robot vacuum for pets I’ve tested. It has advanced airflow design and reinforced dual-bearing brush structure capture dust and pet hair without tangling. After weeks of regular use, I’ve NEVER had to clear the brushes. It’s a massive improvement over older robot vacuums where I was cutting hair out every other day. This feature is rock solid.
TruEdge 3.0 Extreme Edge Cleaning for Pet-Friendly Homes
Other than the roller change, this is why you pay the extra dollars and where the ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI gets impressive. Most robots are round, which means they can’t get into straight corners where dust/crap accumulates. The arm that extends out does edge cleaning brilliantly. The air-cushion suspended roller glides along walls and edges for precise cleaning without scratching furniture or skirting boards. We have a painting which is not ready to hang, I forgot it was on the floor and OMG horror! I watched in as Cinderella went up close with her arm. It was a test of its sensitivity, which I am relived to say worked.
AGENT YIKO AI-Powered Voice Recognition
The AGENT YIKO AI-voice powered cleaning intelligenc. In the app, I label my spaces, create key zones for cleaning where my greyhounds eat, and set no-go zones where they sleep. It’s intuitive and addictive. I can change the mop pressure, area coverage, and more via the app.
The ability to personalise the clean is important for pet owners. I chatted to YIKO, the voice AI, though we had a rocky start. I asked it to “map the house” how basic is that as a command? and it didn’t understand. I had to do it through the app by clicking through different scenarios. Also, it’s not immediately clear on the app, but there’s an ‘ENTER’ arrow at the bottom. If you don’t click that, nothing happens. Took me a while to figure out on set up.
Revolutionary OZMO ROLLER 3.0 Mopping for Pet Messes

This is the BIGGEST game changer that makes the ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI the best robot vacuum for pets in Australia. Most other robots have two arms that rotate and push debris in. The roller has Instant Self-Washing Mopping Technology with its extended 27cm roller and a massive step up for cleaning pet messes.
I like the high-pressure, high-speed cleaning uses pressurised water delivery through 16 precision nozzles combined with roller rotation up to 200 RPM to actively lift dirt, spills, and stubborn pet-related grime. The roller continuously self-washes during cleaning, which means deeper, streak-free results without secondary contamination, essential for homes with dogs.
I’ve tested it on rice spills, muddy paw prints in the kitchen, and dried dog food on my wooden floor. It handles most messes well, though stubborn stains need a few passes.
TruePass Adaptive 4-Wheel-Drive Climbing
The system automatically deploys auxiliary wheels to climb single steps up to 2.4cm and consecutive steps up to 4cm. It’s designed for seamless cleaning across uneven surfaces and thresholds in Australian homes, and mostly it works. Mostly. See below on rescuing Cinderella.
Quietest Robot Vacuum for Anxious Pets
The quieter operation is a game changer for my greyhounds and makes it one of the best robot vacuum for pets with anxiety. Maggie and Georgia normally freak out around robot vacuums, but they’re noticeably more comfortable around Cinderella. It’s genuinely the quietest robot vacuum I’ve tested for skittish dogs they’ll actually stay in the room while it’s cleaning rather than bolting to the bedroom. This alone makes it worth considering.
The Quirks: When the ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI Needs Rescuing
Cinderella is like having an OCD robot. It comes out for 10-15 minutes, decides it’s too dirty, and has to go back to the station to clean, charge, and reset. It’s quite cute, but it adds to the cleaning time. In my open-plan kitchen, lounge, office, and bathroom not a huge floor plan it takes an hour and a half to complete a clean. During that time, it returns to base at least 3-4 times.
In almost every cycle, I have to clean the anti-drop sensor underneath the DEEBOT which has got covered in dirt. So it acts like a dog. I REFUSE to move, turn me over, tummy rub, clean up my sensor, and off you go again. About 50% of the time I run a clean, I need to manually clean that sensor. Maybe my house needs to be cleaner and the alarm won’t go off, but it’s a thing.
There’s an area where my floor air conditioning ducts hit, and Cinderella always has a problem. It gets stuck with drop errors and anti-drop sensing issues, and I need to reset and rescue. Given the frequent back-to-base-to-clean/recharge/meditate routine, the ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI works best at night. The noise level is low, which is good, but if it gets stuck, the prince (me) has to rescue Cinderella at 2am.
OMNI Station: The Real Game Changer for Pet Owners
The advanced OMNI station features Fresh-flow Power Washing with heated water up to 75°C and an automated dirty water self-cleaning system for truly hands-free maintenance – essential for busy pet owners. After a cleaning run, Cinderella returns to the station and it handles everything – self-emptying, washing, drying the mops, refilling the water tank. It takes out all the manual work that cheap robots make you do. I’m not cleaning the robot out every 10 minutes after it picks up pet hair.
The hot air drying prevents that musty smell that develops with some robot mops. The system works brilliantly for Australian pet-friendly households.
The Verdict
What am I Addicted to? It’s the best robot we have reviewed so far. The OZMO ROLLER 3.0 system is a massive step up from the T50 we reviewed along with the mopping performance, TruEdge cleaning and of course the station means no more emptying robots full of dirt or rinsing mop pads every day. The navigation and app personalisation with pet zones are excellent. I loved the quiet operation. It is a game changer.
What do I need to be more Addicted? That anti-drop sensor needs cleaning too often. The frequent returns to base (3-4 times per session) extend cleaning time significantly. Setup could be more intuitive, YIKO not understanding “map the house” is basic stuff.
