A Match Made in Heaven at Physicore

There are some things just don’t work well together. Take for example, corporate clothing and sneakers, Shane Warne and fake tan, alcohol and your work blackberry. Cardio and resistance training however, are a match made in heaven.

Let us introduce you to Physicore – a new, dare we say ‘posh’, boutique Reformer Pilates studio in Paddington where you’re treated to the very best of the best.

Where the high-tech resistance machines are imported from the US and complimentary towels are soft and fluffy (say goodbye to scratchy bleached gym towels that double as a cheap exfoliant!). You can help yourself to spare hair elastics and hair dryers, and the lux change and shower facilities come complete with Molten Brown toiletries. Frankly speaking, this sounds better than home.

Now to the workout – it’s 50 hard core minutes of what can only be described as fabulously buzzed up Reformer Pilates. Be prepared to stretch and crunch, reach and pull, lift and tuck till your heart’s content. Or beating really fast, anyway.

The classes are geared towards intense calorie burn – up to 500 calories per session – by combining resistance and weights with traditional cardio training.  And it doesn’t matter if you’re a novice or a Lycra junkie. We’re all welcome, two left feet and all.

Get ready to sweat, puff and pant your way to the ultimate summer body. Move over Miranda, the rest of us are catching up.
