The 24 Hour Experience

The 24 Hour Experience 1From the rooftop pool of The Adelphi to The Victorian Institute of Forensic Science, we all know art happens all over the place in Melbourne. And now, this March Melbourne is set to steal the Australian title for the city that never sleeps.

From midday on March 29th until midday on March 30th, The 24 Hour Experience will take over the city. Every hour for those 24 hours, there will be a show, somehow, somewhere around the city.

A team of local artists have been picked to come up with the program – we wonder who called shotgun first on not having the 3am slot, although the late night shows clustered around Fed Square are sure to be the best parties in town.

In a city that knows how to party, and loves a good festival, this event crams an entire week’s worth of shows into one day. Now that’s productivity.

Passes are available on a 24 hr, 12 hr and show-by-show basis so if you’ve got serious stamina go for it and get the whole 24 hours, or get it and share it around with your friends. It’s also important for you to keep your strength up so food and drinks are included.

Lisa used to use Sydney as a base to drop off souvenirs before heading off on the next adventure but these days she’s got her feet almost on the ground, with a desire to try every high tea in Sydney, and a cute cavoodle puppy at home. Travel writer, photographer and Kitchen Aid freak, she loves to eat, bake and write.
