Partnership on pointe

Bodytorque 2.2
The mere suggestion of going to the Ballet can at times be fraught with danger. It’s not for everyone, unless you’re perhaps looking at The Australian Ballet’sacclaimed Bodytorque series.  Once again breaking down barriers and exploring new arenas of dance, this production is the labour of five up-and-coming choreographers working with the cream of The Australian Ballet’s artists.

Bodytorque 2.2 this year centers on the theme ‘partnership’ with performances exploring all aspects of the relationships between dancers, the artistic creators and the music that they move to.

Traditional aspects of ballet are given a makeover, and with a modern and upbeat mandate you can expect performances that are as diverse as they are breath-taking.

The five new works are yet to be announced – still, you’ve five good reasons to give new ballet a chance.
