Get ready for a GoodTime

Goodtimes Diner 1What does a good time mean to you?

Is it a night out with friends? How about a good meal and a glass of wine? Or a dessert from a favourite family recipe?

The good news is that at GoodTime Diner, you get a little bit of all of the above.

Starting off with on the ground floor of Bondi Junction’s The Eastern, Good Time Burgers opened last year, and gained a local following for its jumbo-sized $10 burgers and excellent selection of craft beers.

Now the GoodTime brand is bravely taking on the middle level of The Eastern. Without street level access or an entrance via Westfield, the space has been through a few different restaurants, but GoodTime Diner already looks at home with its mood lighting, studded booths and quirky wooden tables.

This place isn’t just about burgers and mac and cheese. While the open kitchen is kept busy dishing up burgers for downstairs, they’ve found plenty of time to perfect the slow cooked meats. The burgers are still on the menu but you’d be mad not to try the 12 hour beef short ribs. Go all out with a meat platter for two – short ribs, Southern spiced chicken, pulled pork and Cajun corn – and invest in a few of the sauces for added punch.

Classic New Orleans style cocktails and the GoodTime’s signature drinks will help put the fire out if you’ve gone for the hot sauce. But save room for dessert. Gelato Messina scoops, towering ice cream sundaes and dark chocolate tarts are on the main menu but make sure you peruse Sylvia’s Homemade Treats. Melting Moments, Rocky Road, even a good old Mars Bar Slice are straight from the family cookbook…and boy are they good.
