NGVHave you ever wanted to go to an art gallery at night, get drunk, eat some pizza and listen to awesome tunes? Well folks, it’s possible next Friday night. And by possible, we mean in a totally chic and sophisticated way.

Friday nights at the National Gallery of Victoria have turned into a soirée for the art lovers, wine drinkers, and snack nibblers within all of us. From June 27 until August 29 Aug will see a different music line up in the NGV Great Hall. Italian Masterpieces in the inspiration for this round of fun. That means there will be some cool people talking on the subject  – think local experts, contemporary artists, critics, curators, and foodies.  Highlights include contemporary artist perspectives by Andrew Hazewinkel and Janet Beckhouse and an address by Father Bob Maguire.

Once the ‘serious’ part is over, you’ll be free to roam and enjoy an Italian inspired bar menu, no surprises here, the likes of antipasto, sliders, soup, pizzas, and paninis will be available.

Go, critique art with a drink in your hand.
