Bombay Bloomers delivers opulence, complexity of spice without the overpowering heat and service so warm you almost feel you’re on holiday. The food is complex and clever without ever being fussy — the kind of dishes that remind you why Indian cuisine is one of the world’s great storytellers.
Walking in is like stepping onto the set of a Bollywood drama directed by someone who really understands lighting. Gold accents, plush textures, warm shadows and opulence without the ego. You instantly feel like you’ve walked into somewhere special.
And then the food arrives and confirms it.
Chicken Pakora — Elegant, Simple, Powerful ($16)
These little golden bites of juicy chicken are spiced, aromatic — the kind of thing you swear you’ll “just try one of” and then suddenly the plate is gone and you’re wondering if anyone saw you inhale them. The spice mix is bold but balanced – and more perfect than you’d imagine. A wonderful introduction to the authentic flavours you’ll experience throughout.
Hariyali Mint Chops — Green, Glorious, And Worth Fighting Over ($27)
The lamb chops, marinated in that luminous green mint-coriander paste, are a whole moment. Tender, smoky, herbaceous and highly delicious. There’s a generosity to the flavour… layers you unwrap as you chew – don’t be too embarrassed to pick up the chop and suck the bone…uncouth yes, essential – absolutely. For two diners, like us and three chops, there was a serious thumb wrestle over who was more deserving of the third piece.
Chicken Tikka Masala— Comfort in an Indian Classic ($27)
You think you know tikka masala… then Bloomers sends out its version and suddenly you’re rethinking your life choices. The chicken is juicy, the sauce is rich and bright, and every spoonful tastes like a warm hug. Tomato, onion, capsicum; familiar ingredients but amplified, deepened, refined. It’s the classic dish that has been refined by the talent within Bombay Bloomers.

Malai Kofta — Silky and Creamy decadence ($25)
The malai kofta arrives looking like a small planet in a galaxy of creamy almond sauce. And then you taste it and good lord, it’s velvety, gently sweet, spiced in a way that soothes your very being. The dumplings themselves are soft, dreamy, indulgent potato. Combined, this is heavenly and a must order.
Dal — The Quiet One You End Up Thinking About Later ($21.50)
An Indian restaurant has one real task: to make the best Dal possible. Yet in so many places the Dal is forgettable a mush of lentils. This one isn’t. It’s earthy, with different types of lentils – adding colour and texture, cumin-tempered, and tastes like someone has been stirring it for hours with a lot of love. It’s gentle but grounding and one of the best we’ve ever had.
Kulfi Trio — Aromatic, Textured, Completely Addictive ($9)
The pistachio Kulfi is a set of made-from-scratch (like everything else at Bombay Bloomers) frozen jewels, each perfumed with cardamom and nostalgia. The reduced milk gives everything this rich, creamy density that hits differently from gelato or ice cream.
The Spot Special — A Cocktail With Personality ($22)
Tequila, coconut, green chilli, curry leaf, verjuice… this cocktail is the absolute star. It’s tropical with a subtle burn, aromatic and genuinely clever. If Bond went through an Indian phase, this is what he’d order.
