The newest café in The Rocks is a happy place. Sit by the front windows of Creperie Suzette, with the morning sun shining on your table, with a steaming café au lait and you can’t help but pretend you’re in France. A fresh crepe arrives, bursting with sprinkles of sugar and lemon, and you’re officially in Parisian heaven.
This small café sits one street back from George Street, in Harrington Street’s prettiest sandstone strip. Attached to the Harbour Rocks Hotel, it’s designed to be a quiet breakfast or lunch stop for visitors or locals alike.

The cute takeaway nook does a steady stream of cold drip coffees, callebaut hot chocolates and lattes, but if you can afford the time, pop into the café.
Pulling back to the bare bones of what was originally an antique store, the café’s exposed brick walls, art deco tiles and hanging copper pots are very Provence, with bright pops of fresh yellow flowers sitting on marble table tops making you feel like you’ve stepped into a chic French farmhouse.
Try a galette – a savoury crepe
The French accents from the staff certainly help with that impression – our crepe maker was indeed from French and she swirls the buckwheat batter out with skill.
Yes, they’re doing things the traditional way, with buckwheat flour in the batter. So it’s totally healthy to tuck into a Caramel au Beurre Salé – a crepe packed with salted caramel, slivered almonds and ice cream. Okay maybe not, but at least you know the ingredients are local where possible! Go for a savoury crepe instead – galettes like the La Complete; ham, mature cheddar and a sunny side up egg, are a light yet filling meal.

Whether it’s a delicate La Sucre et Citron (classic lemon and sugar) or the decadent La Trois Fromage galette (Camembert, Tasty and blue cheese), take time out to savour each mouthful from this sunny spot.
