Discover the Flavours of Brazil at Char & Co

Churrasco. The mighty battle between man and meat. Just what is it that makes men melt at the mention of churrasco? The endless offerings of steak, sausage, ribs and of course, grilled pineapple (we know, not a meat but it still seems to get them every time), draws them in hordes. If a meat overload is not your cup of tea, Char & Co has the answer. Sydney’s newest Brazilian restaurant caters for the serious carnivores. But also everyone else.

That’s right, your other half can get his meat fix (with more than 20 types of meat sizzling on the natural charcoal and iron bark wood grill) while you delicately devour an eye fillet steak and a killer quinoa salad.

Churrasco Brazilian Food

Char & Co really is about more than meat, meat, meat. It’s the brainchild of chef and restaurateur Bruno Da Motto, whose passion for the cuisine of his birth country is palatable. He’s bringing Sydneysiders up to speed with the best that Brazilian food has to offer, beyond the churrasco, by shining a spotlight on Northern Brazilian cuisine. The Moqueca seafood curry is already gaining a reputation of its own and is dotted with saltwater barramundi, tiger prawns and mussels. Chilli, coriander and coconut give the broth an aromatic hit.

Now, once you’ve had your meat fix, save room, no seriously, save room, for dessert. The kitchen may be hot and sizzling with that grill but they somehow find time to perfect their desserts. The churros are a good way to judge a Brazilian restaurant and at Char & Co they’re spot on – light, fluffy, just the right amount of crunch and cinnamon sugar, and they’re served with warm callebaut chocolate and dulce de leche sauce. Or move away from the stereotypes and head straight to a Doce de mel e amendoim. A super smooth peanut and honey parfait sits on a gooey dulce de leche base, with bite size pastry-wrapped grilled banana pieces and peanut brittle.

You won’t be sorry.
