Some people love secrets and some people hate them. But at the end of the day, when they’re good secrets there isn’t too much to complain about, right? Well that’s our opinion anyway, which is why our ears pricked up when we heard Secret Foodies was running a Spring Garden Party in Melbourne on Saturday the 15th of November.

Secret Foodies have been all about secrets since 2010. People buy tickets to a themed event and on the day of said event they find out the secret location where it will be taking place. And it’s not until when they arrive that they find out exactly what their event will involve. It’s all about mystery, trust and having a sense of adventure.

So what do we know about this upcoming Secret Foodies gathering? From 1pm guests will play in a garden. They need to wear their best vintage get-up. Think frocks, cravats, and pocket-chiefs (if images of Matt Preston in a dress came to mind, you’re close). Piper-Heidsieck Champagne will be flowing, and spring inspired canapés will make the rounds. There will also be some garden games and live entertainment to ensure the strangers play nice together.

On the day of the garden party, guests will get a text message leading them to the intimate venue which feels like something out of Versailles, according to Secret Foodies founder Alex Adams.

This Spring Garden Party is the last secret event for 2014. If you haven’t experienced anything like this before, then you should get your tickets and your vintage headpiece at the ready. You’re in for a great surprise.
