Whether you like your smoothies green, filled with peanut butter, or just full of fruit, Five Plus Smoothie, the new home of smoothies on Little Lonsdale Street in Melbourne’s city has you covered.

To make sure the smoothies are on the healthy side, director Vivian Lam wrote all of the recipes in conjunction with nutritionist Samantha Ward, and each smoothie is listed with its related health benefits. They steer clear of sweeteners, with dates as the only exception, are packed full of vegetables and fruits delivered daily from local farms, and their cups are BPA free and biodegradable. Speaking of fruits and vegetables, as the name suggests, you’ll get your daily serve of fruit and veg right there in your cup. The prices are consistent across the board charging $7.50 for a regular smoothie and $9 for a large.

The New Leaf, which combines spinach, coconut water, cucumber, celery, parsley, mint, ginger, and lemon, is a serious green smoothie that will act as a nice detox for your liver, while the Green Light, with its spinach, coconut water, celery, banana, pear, and lemon is better if you’re after a little sweetness with your dose of greenery.

There are many a smoothie for those not concerned about the green colour. Although they’re all nutritious, even The Peanut Butter Cup (oats, almond milk, banana, homemade peanut butter, and dates). Yes it’s healthy and it promotes muscle development. Gym goers rejoice. If fruit is more your thing you can go for the Purple Patch, the mix of almond milk, blueberries, banana, and the ever trendy acai is delightful.

They’re open 8am – 6pm during the week, so you can always get a smoothie hit when you need it most…during the work week.
