A Dance with a Wee Bit of Difference

Are you a dance movie tragic? Can you recite entire scenes from Dirty Dancing, Save the Last Dance and Flashdance? Are you still haunted by Kevin Bacon’s jeans in Footloose?

From June 19 – 25, Australians are being urged to pay attention to a different dance: The Wee Dance.

The Wee Dance is a nifty little idea to inspire Aussies to check their bladder during World Continence Week.

According to urology experts, 1 in 9 people have an Overactive Bladder (OAB).

Could this be you?

Do you need to pee eight or more times during a 24-hour period? Get up during the night to trek to the bathroom? Or have the sudden urge to go that is followed by … oops!

OAB symptoms occur when nerves in the bladder send signals to the brain at the wrong time. Thinking the bladder is full, the brain tells the bladder to empty, squeezing the bladder muscle over-actively.

If you’re a wizard of wizz or a princess of pee, the good news is that you can do something about it. You don’t have to suck it up.

For more information about this ultra-common and yet rarely discussed condition, visit bladderchecker.com.au or speak to your GP.
