It’s natural for Sydney-siders, having launched Earth Hour in 2007, now a global action where up to 1 billion people switch off their lights and non-essential appliances, on the same day for one hour. Saving carbon emissions and sending a message of support for climate change.
You’ll flick off like the best of them between 8.30 – 9.30pm, Saturday 28 March but rather than just sit in the dark, take your protest outdoors. Try a solar powered beach party at Avalon Beach, or Hidden Door’s non-profit Earth Hour Challenge, where teams of four race around Circular Quay to locate a series of eco-friendly checkpoints.
