I realise I’m in need of some professional help as I discover dull skin, chipped nails and neglected brows. Locating a head-to-toe glow-up without having to sprint across the city like I’m in a glamathon isn’t easy to find which is why Rêve Skin + Beauty is so unique. This is Sydney’s newest “all-in-one” beauty sanctuary. It blends clinical skin treatments, nails, grooming essentials, and soul-soothing rituals under one roof.
The Vibe
Founder Meghann Nikola is self-confessed skin obsessed. The clinic was born out of her own frustration having to zig-zag over town to piece together appointments. Most salons are transactional, it’s a beauty fix or treatment, in and out. Meghann created what was missing – a one stop studio for time poor women, curating salon services and day spa restoration to leave her clients polished and replenished.
Bringing some serious skin credentials with a background in science and pharmaceutical marketing, Rêve is grounded in clinical precision to provide personalised care. Rêve, French for dream is Meghann’s vision of “beauty optimised”.
Location
This corner terrace in Annandale has a bougie Parisian energy. Far from beige–white, the space is blush, burgundy and unapologetically feminine. No panpipes here, a pop classics and soft rock bangers playlist filters through each room.
A classy nail salon greets you entering reception. Absent are sad vibrating vinyl chairs, elegant comfortable pastel occasional chairs are dressed with round musk cushions. Plush red carpet and decadent Gucci Herron wallpaper adorn the floors and walls and the treatment rooms have such comfy beds you’ll rest while you rejuvenate.
The experience
The treatment menu covers everything from HydraFacial, IPL and radio frequency micro-needling to lashes, brows, nails and skin aesthetics, features Synergy and Dermalogica products and specialist serums.
Today I am in for the Rêve Essential Edit – which promises perfect nails, a lash and brow makeover and glowing skin, in one session.
Pedi perfection – Sara ever so gently trims and tidies my unkept winter nails that I almost doze off in the dappled sunlight in the nail lounge. The attention to detail is impeccable, I get quite possibly the best high-shine apricot pedi I’ve ever had.
Lash lift – Samantha takes me through me my first ever lash treatment, with the utmost care my lashes are curled and tinted. Wow – I have eyes now, I’m a convert.
HydraFacial – Meghann uses an innovative piece of tech which is like a baby Dyson for your face. A gentle cleansing suction series that is finished with a luxurious serum leaves my skin rosy pink and literally glowing. I feel so at ease that things get more personal during the treatment, I consult Meghann on my skin concerns, we talk about aging and laugh about how much menopause sucks. We swap out the brow makeover for 15 minutes under the LED for a final boost to wrap up my experience.
I float downstairs feeling wonderful and as a first time client, I am sent home with a well-intentioned gift pack of samples, serums, a cute hat and in case its wet outside, an umbrella.
The experience was beyond my expectations. Rêve is a revelation – a fusion of rituals for results and rejuvenation for when we need a little down time and a little glow-up.
