The Kerrigan kicks off

The coolest shack we’ve ever seen doesn’t sit in a field, a paddock, or even a park. No, it’s wharfside on Sydney Harbour. Pier One’s wharf to be exact.

The Kerrigan has popped up on the actual pier of Pier One, right outside the hotel’s bar, which is extremely convenient because it means you get authentic “shack” dining, alongside a full service bar (hello cocktails!). Grab one of the lounge areas, a few menus and settle in for a weekend session as the sun goes down.

With its very own charcoal grill and a smoker on site, you can smell The Kerrigan before you see it, and your mouth will be watering by the time you’ve put your order in. Juicy burgers, crispy chicken wings, tacos, even prawns and fresh oysters are all easy eating options – but just make sure you save room for the smoked pork ribs slathered in a house made BBQ sauce. The meats are smoked for up to 14 hours, with home made rubs and sauces, so trust us, you will want to tuck in.
