The Diner at Trunk

Serving up daytime classics that take a workaday breakfast or lunch from meh to marvellous, as well as evening specials that cast a fun spell, the new Diner gives Trunk fans a cruisy walk-in option for spontaneous snacks.

It’s five years since the American style eatery opened, and to celebrate they’re sporting a new menu (available 7 nights a week) and new contemporary open-air fit-out by Projects of Imagination, featuring loads of glass and wooden beams along with a super-for-summer retractable roof.

For those that are calorific adverse, your surprise daily menu of twenty healthy salads and hearty soups will appease. Otherwise it’s true to form dude food central, think buttermilk fried chicken wings with old-fashioned potato salad, pulled spiced lamb shoulder kebabs, chilli cheese fries and hot buttered popcorn.

Top it all off with their new pastry chef’s apple, pecan or lemon meringue pie, a rummy Sailor’s punch or a maple-soaked mountain of waffles and then waddle out into the night, ready for anything. And did we mention, The Diner serves Tim Tam Slam and Golden Gaytime milkshakes? ‘Nuff said.
