Smith Street Alimentari

Smith Street is really making a name for itself in the food and drink department. Smith Street Alimentari is just adding to that. Nestled in next to Gorski & Jones, it’s a tiny slice of Italy. From the same team behind Gorski and Brunswick Street Alimentari, it’s the latest venture from Meaghan Gorski and Paul and Linda Jones.

Cabinets, fridges and shelves are piled high with fresh produce and pantry items – they’ll leave you feeling like you’ve stepped into a produce store in Florence.

For those looking to get a quick meal, the eat in or take away dishes see the likes of Cornish pastries and sausage rolls to a Panini filled with pork roast and apple sauce. If you’re looking to buy now and heat later you can opt for the arancini, meatballs, curry or duck rillettes. There’s also a cabinet of fresh pasta and pizza dough ready to be cooked, including gluten free options. A range of pantry items fill the walls. Think freekah, chocolate and even Turkish pistachios. There is also a dairy fridge for cheese cravings.

After browsing the busy store, pick up a Veneziano coffee and a sweet from the selection of cakes, tarts and pastries lining the front cabinet.

This isn’t the best place to linger, but in true Italian style you can get in and out in a flash with a bag full of the finest ingredients out there. Your go-to for your next dinner party.
