Shadow self

Lior Shadows and Light
Two fingers and a thumb make a rabbit. Linked thumbs and flapping hands make a bird. Shadow puppets take us back to our childhood, thanks to torches and sheets, but now they have a place in the present with Sydney Theatre Company’senchanting new production.

Lior’s liquid voice draws you into the curious world of shadow artists Stephen Mushin and Anna Parry. This creative duo has specifically designed projected sets so that they can interact with Lior and feature themselves as live performers during the show.

Drawing from his Autumn Flow and Corner of an Endless Road albums, Lior will be accompanied by the Tailem String Quartet.

But this is not just frivolous shadowplay. A percentage of the proceeds go to Youngcare, a unique Australian charity that provides relevant, dignified facilities for young people with high care needs who were previously forced to live in aged care homes.

From darkness there comes light, and with light, hope.
