This is the idea behind Positive Posters, which began in 2009 as a non-profit international poster competition based in Melbourne. Publishing positive graphic design in and around city streets all over the world, Positive Posters supports emerging design talent and contributes to a more – you guessed it – positive environment.
Each year, the competition is run and the final 30 are short listed with an exhibition launch where the winner is judged and then the winning design is published and promoted globally.
You can purview the Finalists’ posters at No Vacancy at QV – hopefuls for the kind of success that the 2009 winner from Slovakia had with his poster “Smile” pasted all over Melbourne streets and seen at the North and South pole.
So if you’re feeling a bit sad or you just appreciate great design, this is the exhibition to lift your spirits.
