After Hours Nite Art

Everyone knows when the lights go out, the cool kids come out to play. Well, when the sun sets in Melbourne, the good times are just getting started.

And on the 24th July, the creative sparks are going to have some fun. For one night, Upper Bourke St will be bursting with gallery openings and events as part of Nite Art, a brand new initiative designed to get the Melbourne gallery scene pumping.

More than 56 artists, from photographers and printmakers to sculptures and poets, will take part in openings and showcases.

Guilford Lane, Elizabeth St, Flinders Lane and locations around North Melbourne will all be hosting special Nite Art galleries, along with art drives through the city.

Our pick: start out with a drink at Chin Chin and peruse The Chin Chin Wall of Art by Kathryn Clarke before checking out Reko Rennie’s Neon Natives illumination on the corner of Flinders Lane and Cocker Alley.
