Miracle fruit

Taste sensation party at ivy
You only do travel trips and you’re not one for tripping.  Although it’s worth making an exception for a Flavour Tripping party – hosted by the folks at The Den.

Flavour trips are all about eating under the influence; using miracle berries (sideroxylon dulcificum) to rewire the way your tastebuds consider sour, acidic and bitter flavours.

You’re naturally a tad sceptical, but swoosh a miracle fruit around your mouth, wait for a couple of minutes and for the next hour you’ll be eating like a kid discovering your own Willy Wonka room.

Your palette swaps sour lemons for lemonade, stout beers for milkshakes. Tabasco sauce tastes like warm doughnut glaze and vinegar as refreshing as apple juice.

The taste sensations will last about two hours. The tasting menu of food, drinks and beats will keep you talking about it for weeks.
