melt in the mouth

There’ll be plenty of Sydneysiders replete with love this week. With love for food, for Sydney, and for writing.  Aptly too for the Sydney Writers’ Festival Food & Drink program, and not just because it insists on placing your diet on pause.

Hot Chocolate: The Dark Sweet Side of the City will suitably get the taste buds talking. Guided by two foodie experts John Newton and Helen Greenwood, this tour takes you to the ultimate choc-loving spots in town, including Vandwerwee, Jeff de Bruges and Haigh’s. You dine briefly at Lindt and go behind the scenes at Adora for a chocolate making demonstration.

Have lunch with Maggie Beer and hear her heart-warming accounts of memorable meals with family and friends, or a bite with head chef Justin North of Bécasse, as he shares recipes from French Lessons and de-mystifies French cooking.

A master of words and seemingly stomachs; this festival knows exactly how to win you over.
