MBFWA 2014: Alice McCall

What everyone is talking about:

The finale. As the last model strutted off the catwalk, white confetti fell from above, creating a winter wonderland. That Alice McCall sure knows how to end her show with a bang.

The Collection:

With the words ‘In My Dreams We Were Flying’ the Alice McCall collection for this season was born. Set in a large warehouse, the jumble of white paraphernalia objects hung with string to set the scene for the collection. Planets, skulls and bows were only a few of the random sculptures that hung reminding us of the unpredictability of our dreams.

Sculptured rompers and playful dresses were paired with dreamy colours of soft blues and pinks, lemon chiffon and pistachio green. As the show progressed, so did the designer’s imagination as it ran wild with amazing yet bizarre and quirky printed pieces balanced by structured and simple silhouettes.

The Look:

The eyes became the main focus with a dab of glitter on the inside corner of the eyes creating a glitter grunge look by M.A.C Cosmetics. Hair by KMS was soft with natural texture and organic waves with a scatter of blunt fringes amongst the girls to toughen up the look.

What we’re addicted to:

Unique and quirky printed pieces. Seriously coveting a McCall statement piece to get the conversation started at the next cocktail party.
